An original preliminary background from the Disney Studios animated film, "The Great Mouse Detective" (1986). Featuring a beautiful illustration of the interior of a tavern, the hand-painted background was created at the studio by James Coleman, signed on the reverse, and used during the animation process. Measuring 10.5"x12.5" overall, the background is in very good condition with minor discoloration, edge and corner wear.
